HELLO ALL:  THIS  IS FROM PASTOR ROY

14 Days of Prayer:  April 9 - 22, 2018
DAY 1:
April 9: Acts 10:2 says “He prayed regularly”. This is the one thing scripture tells us about Cornelius. Does not tell us in what position it just says regularly. I have challenged you to pray at 7:00 pm each night for the next 14 days as our board begins to make decisions about the new pastor. As I think about this I know God is moving strategically to give Grace Chapel a new beginning. We all need to be in prayer because I don’t believe we will get our marching orders of moving forward until we have prayed. It is when we pray he will hear us and take us to places we can never imagine. By praying we are getting ready, seeking how God can use us.

DAY 2:
April 10: Proverbs 16:9“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”God wants us to get to where God wants us to go more than we want to get there. If we follow the scriptures and the leading of the Holy Spirit we will be in His path. Establish in Hebrew can be translated in several ways, “makes secure” or “directs” in our prayers we need to be praying that we will be secure in our decisions as well as His direction. That is through prayer and reading we can hear from God. That’s exciting to me how God takes us on adventures and we sometimes don’t even realize that we are traveling.

DAY 3:
April 11: Luke 11:8 “ … because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need”.  This story in Luke is about a man who continues to knock on the door of a friend. The story is about the continuation of prayer. This man was so set on getting his friend to get him what he needed he kept knocking. Finally the man’s friend got up and gave him everything he asked for. The point is that it may seem like our prayers are repeated but just as the friend in need he (we) need to keep knocking. We know we are praying for the same thing but it is important to be persistent. Keep praying God will provide what we need and when we need it.

DAY 4:
April 12:  2 Corinthians 10:5 “We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”. A couple of years ago I spoke about drawing a circle and praying inside that circle. I think sometimes we have a small view of God and this can cause issues that are bothersome, it’s when we have a big view of God that we can have big answers. When we place limits on God through our thoughts we draw small circles when we have faith and know no limits we draw big circles and can move mountains. Where have you put your thoughts in this process? Are they in a small circle or a big circle?
