Old Home Day September 15, 2018
Message from Margit
The time has come to seriously prepare for Hooksett Old Home day, our fourth time in a row in recent years. Many tasks are necessary in putting this together. We are renting three adjacent booth spots as we did last year. This enables us to feature our church well. Old Home Day is a rain-or-shine event.
Saturday, September 15th: We will load a pick-up truck or two with the items (tables, chairs, canopies, signage, etc.) at the church around 7 AM. Vehicles are allowed on the grounds no sooner than 7:30AM. They have to be removed by 10AM. General entrance begins at 11AM.
A couple of people have already volunteered to help with their presence at the booth. We want to be well staffed throughout the day, until 5-5:30PM to meet and greet people who stop by. If you have any time to dedicate to this outreach ministry between those hours, please let us know that we can count on you. Some will be there from loading time in the morning until drop off at the church at night, a very long day, indeed. They would welcome the break you can provide with your participation.
Manpower for set up and take down is certainly much needed if that is what you can help us with. Attending the booth is a light task! Pastor Roy is getting matching T-shirts for our Old Home Day Team to wear. We will need number of people and what sizes to order ahead of time.
You will receive an email announcement from Diane about a meeting at the church, most likely to be held after church on Sunday to go over some things. Please consider how you can help Grace Chapel in keeping a visible presence in the community and its surrounding areas.
A big "Thank you!" to the few who have already offered their help. However, we need YOU, too! The easiest and surest way to respond is to this email (Sorry, but robo calls are driving us crazy all day on the land line. Therefore, we no longer answer numbers we do not recognize).
