HELLO ALL: THIS IS FROM PASTOR ROY
14 Days of Prayer: April 9 - 22, 2018
DAY 9:
There is a story of a church that had seventeen members that felt led to start three new churches in the near by towns. One pastor had already accepted the call and just before he was to leave his place he was notified that the funds were not available to begin his work. As the people prayed and a short time later s person from another place heard about the vision and donated a substantial amount of money and the three churches were begun. We at Grace chapel are at this moment not very big but if we are praying and seeking God’s will He will do things through us we are not capable of doing ourselves. One of my favorite Bible stories is when God uses Gideon and three hundred men to defeat an army of one hundred and twenty thousand. (Judges 7-8) Gideon must of wondered what are you doing Lord? The lesson is it has to be God not man. His will His way.
DAY 10:
Colossians 3:15 “ And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.” When we are in God’s will we have an inner peace. Sometimes that means we have to take the first step, the step of faith. Moses had to step into the Red Sea and it parted, Peter walked on the water, taking he first step. When we are following God he will keep us high, and dry. Many times there are obstacles, risk, and dangers, but this is God’s way of saying “I’m in this decision trust me through it.” Doing God’s will requires faith and action, just as the two men step out their faith held them up but it was the action that allowed God to show He was in charge. This week we need to have faith and act on it by putting our foot into the water.
DAY 11:
John 3:8 “The wind blows wherever it pleases.” Have you ever prayed God surprise me or us, as a church? We are seeking God’s will and want what he wants, but are we truly looking for what God wants to do in us and through us? So often I tend to look at reality and not just let God show up in his own way. As I look around my yard I have no trees in it yet some how the wind has blown leaves and branches into my yard. When I just let God work He has surprised me so many times. When we pray let’s pray that God has a great surprise for Grace Chapel. Can you imagine the surprise when Peter walked on the water. I have found through the years God does not work through the end of a pencil.
DAY 12:
Matt.20:32 “ What do you want me to do for you?” As Jesus was walking along road from Jericho two men shouted out heal me. The disciples were in a hurry and yet Jesus stopped and asked exactly what is it you want me to do? Seems kind of obvious to us the answer would be give me sight, and so it should be. Through our prayer times this week have we asked God exactly what we need? We ask a lot of God in our prayers and yes He already knows our needs but when Jesus asks the question maybe our request should be as specific as possible.
